How to play Ludo online

Ludo is the classic race game for 2 to 4 players. On Jakoz you can play it free with friends, with players from around the world, or against the computer.

The goal

Each player has four tokens. Move all four around the board and into your home triangle before anyone else does.

The rules

1. Bringing a token out: roll a 6 to move a token from your base onto your start square.
2. Moving: roll the dice and move one token that many squares clockwise. If no token can move, your turn passes.
3. Bonus turns: rolling a 6, capturing a token or getting a token home gives you another roll.
4. Capturing: land exactly on an opponent’s token to send it back to its base.
5. Safe squares: tokens on the star squares and the start squares cannot be captured.
6. Three 6s: rolling three 6s in a row ends your turn.
7. Going home: after a full lap, tokens enter your coloured home column and need the exact number to reach home.

Ways to play on Jakoz

• Quick match: a 1 vs 1 or 4-player game with players who are online now.
• Play with friends: share a link or a 6-letter code; friends join in one tap.
• Practice: play the computer at easy, medium or hard, or pass one phone around.

Tips to win

• Get two tokens out early so a bad roll does not waste your turn.
• Rest on star squares when an opponent is up to 6 squares behind you.
• Capture when you can: it costs your opponent their whole lap and gives you a bonus roll.
• Move a token into your home column as soon as it arrives; it can never be captured there.

Fair dice

Every roll on Jakoz happens on the game server, never on a player’s phone, so nobody can cheat their dice.
